How to Save Depleting Resources

“If conservation of natural resources goes wrong, nothing else will go right” -     M.S Swaminathan

Natural resources are assets that are present without the aid of mankind. They are much more diverse than we think; their classification in itself is the whole earth.
They can be divided into:

-          Biotic, Abiotic.
-          Potential,actual,reserve, stock.
-          Renewable, Non-Renewable.

Humankind has found various ways to extract the resources which are not renewable, and the extraction speed is immense. As a result, sooner or later the resources are going to dry out and that would be a problem for the very near future.

"The conservation of natural resources is the fundamental problem. Unless we solve that problem, it will avail us little to solve all others."   -   Theodore Roosevelt

Natural Resources In India.

The Indian landmass consists of a wide variety of resources. India generates 4 fuels, 11 metallic, 52 non-metallic and 22 minor minerals.

However the huge population of the country has a pretty big appetite, therefore the country depends majorly on imports. But this system is not going to prevail for long. As soon as other countries start to face a shortage of resources, they will be forced to stop the exports. That would be a time in India that everything from industry to retail will come to a standstill.

Moreover, extraction of resources in many cases leads to pollution and health hazards of many kinds. This leads to widespread protests by local people and NGO’S.

It’s not that India is not capable of handling its resource shortage. All she needs to do is to invest in innovation. We as a country have to look for ways to produce resources that are affordable and lead to minimum environmental effect.

Role of Corporate

Lately the government of India has been making a lot of efforts to generate energy through renewable sources and is also promoting innovations that are ‘Green’ in nature in various industrial sectors.

It is an initiative by Mr. Himansh Verma, the Founder & Chairman of Navrattan Holding Ltd. that the company is progressing towards producing ‘Cleaner & Greener’ products. The company, a vertical of Navrattan Group’, thinks of the forthcoming future as they are working to innovate and acquire such patents that seem to be good to mankind.

Blue Crete Cement - Innovative Cement Technology

After years of research scientists have invented a new type of cement that is a cross breed of Geo-Polymer and Nano-Ceramic cement. Geo-Blue Crete is a complete low carbon alternative that looks, acts and works like Portland cement but has three times the compression and tensile strengths of Portland cement. It can be distributed in the same way, with the same equipment, at a low manufacturing cost. This new age cement is a one-part system that only requires a simple paddle mixing of its powdered chemical formula at ambient temperatures. The manufacturing process is not dependent on fossil fuels or large kilns. However, it's delivery system remains the same as OPC and the product itself results in a high-performance concrete at 6000 psi and over. It is water retardant, acid retardant, discourages the oxidation of rebar, and has a near-zero coefficient of expansion, which makes it excellent in below-freezing temperatures as well as in tropical regions. It does not trans

Rain Water Harvesting

Demand for water is growing in most cities as every urban citizen requires almost double the amount of water than a rural citizen. Moreover, India is rapidly urbanizing. Urban population in India has grown almost five times in five decades from (62.44 million) in 1951   to (286.08) in 2001. Not long ago, most of our cities were self-sufficient in meeting their water needs from the extensive urban water bodies to supply water to citizens. Today these water bodies have completely disappeared. Municipalities have been stretched to their limits to find water for the growing urban populations. Groundwater is being extracted by the government as well as the private parties. The term rainwater harvesting is being frequently used these days, however, the concept of water harvesting is not new for India. Water harvesting techniques had been evolved and developed centuries ago. System of collecting rainwater and conserving for future needs has traditionally been practiced in India. The
